Real Estate Designations

 

 

 

Salesperson:

A licensed real estate agent, working under a "Principle Broker".

 

Broker:

A licensed real estate agent who has been in the business for at least 2 years, and has taken 90 hours of instruction. A test is required for obtaining "Broker" status. A broker may open his or her own office, or continue to work under a "Principle Broker".

 

Executive Broker:

A Broker with supervisory duties in an office.

 

Principle Broker:

The head of an office. Usually the owner, but not necessarily. Responsible for all licensees working in the office.

 

RealtorÒ

A member of the National Association of Realtors. Only a member of NAR is allowed to use the term Realtor.

 

GRI (Graduate of the Realtor's Institute):

A professional designation. Earned by taking many courses offered from the institute. Usually takes two years to achieve.

 

E-Pro

NAR's latest designation for agents using Internet and email marketing. Earned by completing an on-line course that covers all aspects of marketing real estate on the Internet and using email for customer/client contacts.

 

ABR (Accredited Buyer's Representative):

A professional designation. Given to those who take an intensive course designed to prepare the agent to represent buyers. Not common but becoming more so.

 

CRS (Certified Residential Specialist):

A professional designation. Earned by taking courses offered through the CRS program. Only about 4 percent of real estate agents hold this designation.

 

*Million Dollar Club:

Given to agents that achieve a high level of production during a single year.

 

*Multi-Million Dollar Club:

Only awarded to those who achieve the highest levels of production during a single year. Not to be confused with actual money received!

 

*Lifetime Member:

Given to agents who are Million or Multi-Million Dollar Club producers for three consecutive years.

 

*These designations are no longer given and are replaced by the following:

 

Award for Excellence:

Given by the Arkansas Association of Realtors for superior production during the year. This award recognizes levels of achievement, and presents awards according to the following levels:

Bronze

Silver

Gold

Platinum

Diamond
